An AI accountability app is a deadline you cannot ghost
An accountability app is supposed to make a promise expensive to break. Most “AI coaches” still behave like a to-do list with a nicer voice: they log the task, send a polite reminder, and go quiet when you swipe it away. Mad AI: Angry Alarms is an AI accountability app in a narrower sense. It ties the task to a deadline, asks for photo proof, runs an automated check, and keeps notifying you if you do not finish.
That is different from hiring a human accountability partner, who can argue, forget, or get tired of you. It is also different from a streak tracker that lets you check a box in bed. The AI here is not a therapist and not a manager. It is software that compares a picture to the goal you typed and refuses to call that “done” when the picture is the wrong room.
If you want a category definition: AI accountability means the follow-up is automated, the completion rule is evidence-based, and ignoring the reminder has a next step. Mad AI is one implementation of that loop on iPhone and iPad (requires iOS/iPadOS 18.0 or later). It is not Android. Download is free; Premium is an in-app purchase after a 24-hour in-app trial.

What the AI is actually doing
You describe the goal. At the deadline you submit a photo. The app uses automated processing to judge whether the image matches that description. Sarcastic coach copy can accompany a miss or a rejection. None of that is medical advice, and none of it is a human reviewing every frame in real time on this marketing site’s say-so. The Privacy Policy is the source for how proof content is stored and processed.
When this category is the wrong tool
If you already keep promises with a paper list, you do not need angry alarms. If you need clinical care, this is not that. If you want a calm habit grid, look elsewhere. Mad AI is for people who already know the task and still do not start unless something keeps pinging.
Questions
Is this just ChatGPT with a timer?
No. The core loop is deadline plus photo check plus follow-up notifications. Generated tough-love messages are part of the coach, not the whole product.
Can a friend replace this?
A person can hold you accountable. Mad AI is the version that does not sleep, does not get bored, and still requires a picture. Friend invitations and a public leaderboard are not offered in the current app.

This is the best productivity and goals app
I find myself struggling to get the motivation to go to the gym and do my school work. I have tried some of the other productivity and planner apps and none of them really worked for me and they would always try and make you pay after clicking through like 50 screens. Not only do this app have the easiest sign up process but it also doesn’t make you pay. You can actually use the app and see if it works for you. On top of that it actually has made me more productive. Honestly the app is super annoying and mean but it’s making me go to the gym more lol. I set a simple 1 hour goal to go to the gym and then my alarm went off and I snoozed it. Like 5 seconds later nonstop notifications, like legit non stop. I actually got up and went to the gym just to get it to stop. Great app.

Productive App
This app actually does what most productivity apps promise but never deliver. Once you set a task, there’s no just ignoring it and moving on with your day it keeps reminding you until you get it done. I tried setting a simple one-hour workout, and the constant notifications made it way harder to procrastinate than to just finish it. It’s a bit intense, but honestly, that’s what makes it work. Would highly recommend🔥
